The shortest "reasonable" itinerary is 7 days Nairobi to Nairobi, which provides abit of acclimatization and gives you possible summit day however the most recommended itinerary is 8 to 11 days, where you have a bit more acclimatization time as well as options for second or third summit days to accommodate weather. We also recommend trying to include a complete or partial circumnavigation of the peak as part of your itinerary. This gives you more time to acclimate and also to get to know all sides of the mountain. A great challenge and adventurous trek option’ – Pole Pole Trekking (Trek period may be extended to 6, 7 or 8 days circuit at extra). A combination of the two of Mount Kenya’s most challenging and scenic routes , from the lush green forests and U-shaped valleys of Sirimon to the unique features of the temple, mushroom rocks and the Gorge Valleys on the Chogoria approach side. There are several contrast in micro-climatic conditions, Chogoria route being wetter and more moist than Sirimon route. This itinerary accommodation are in huts and camping.
